How to import large amount of data in Sling based application?

Using jcr-explorer, it is fine to take back-up the data of existing server and importing it to the new server. But when it is the case of huge amount of data (in the form of xml as it is exported using jcr-explorer), it is throwing an exception as : "Too Large Post". What would be the soluton?
