How to read search results?
JCRDev displays search results along with result types. So if you get a "notebook + pen" icon adjacent to search result it simply means that the content belongs to "Blogs" section. Same applies to other icons. "two person" for forums, "W" for wiki and "N" denotes news. This helps users in first screening of search results.
Who is behind JCRDev?
JCRDev is developed by eForce, a company that specializes in designing, developing and implementing innovative products that enable organizations to perform critical business functions reliably and securely. "3 man" is the nick name given to our logo and this current website. It symbolizes the importance of keeping a team small and agile and also involves the people behind the scenes.
What features can users expect on the RoadMap?

How does the Rating/Ranking system in JCRDEV work?
Members earn points based on their contribution to JCRDev and based on these points they get rankings like JCRDev, JCRLead, JCRArch, JCRFellow and JCRGuru. The ratings are hierarchical in nature. It means, the more you earn points the greater hierarchy you achieve on the ladder. Members get points on posting a Blog, posting a Thread, replying to a Thread, creating a Wiki, editing a Wiki, etc. They also get points if somebody rates their Blogs and these points are based on the ranking of the member who is rating it. For example, if a JCRGuru rates the Blog as 7/10 the member (who posted the Blog) will get 45 points while the same rating from a JCRDev will give only 25 points to the Blogger. This way, the system maintains quantity as well quality.
What is the history behind JCRDEV?
When we started building a web application on Sling framework we had a herculean task in hand. We knew from very first day that it’s not going to be an easy job as there’s not much help available on this. First thing we wanted to do is to understand the overall architecture. We started digging down and we encountered several other new terms like OSGi, Jackrabbit, Felix, etc. Our purpose was to understand each and every terminology used in and around this framework. The process of understanding was slow but it went steadily for us. Step-by-step we grabbed the knowledge and started playing around with the codebase. We developed few sample programs and it boosted our confidence. Once we became familiar, we started planning for a real web application. We started with a normal blogging application and once that went successful we planned for JCRDev. JCRDev is an online community for JCR developers, CMS architects, and Web Managers. It contains blog, forum, wiki, online profiling, reward based on contribution and in future we would be adding many more features. JCRDev.com is built 100% in Sling framework and it’s using Jackrabbit repository for storing content. Everything used here is Open Source and there’s no involvement of any commercial tool.
