Help Tip : CQ5 And Snow Leopard (Mac)
By thaneshk - JCRLead | Posted on 2010-01-06 11:13
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard on my Mac and was trying to run a simple vault command to download some jars. My initial vault commands to download everything under /content worked fine but when I executed [ vlt co http://localhost:4502/crx/libs/cq/install . ], I got the following error [[ERROR] checkout: java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Missing implementation.].
I immediately assumed it was a java compatibility issue given my past experiences and went about finding what the deal was. It was pretty easy to find the answer given such an assumption and the immediate google search "Java issue snow leopard" gave me the answers - 1.5 SDK was not working on Snow Leopard. Only 1.6.
A few more google searches and I was able to get to this link wiki.oneswarm.org/index.php/OS_X_10.6_Snow_Leopard. Basically a quick and easy way to setup 1.5 SDK on your new Snow Leopard box/upgrade.
And thus vault started to work and I am feeling abit better.
Good luck with that CQ5 project now :)

You have to love it when an OS declares a separate technology too old and you have to install it from the old version of the OS...
